Cosmic story time for April 2022

Gather ‘round kids, it’s almost time to turn to the next chapter in our collective and cosmic storytime.

On April 20th, the Sun (representing our life force energy and vitality) moves from the trailblazing sign of Aries and to the grounded, pleasure-seeking sign of Taurus.

Ruled by Venus, Taurus is a nocturnal, fixed earth sign. Reliable Taurus— Get it? fixed earth— feels most at home in the slow lane, deliberately soaking up sensual pleasures of every kind. Lovers of great food, great sex, and the best of everything, centered, loyal, and peaceful Taurus can also be quite inflexible and stubborn. She’s the bull, after all.

Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac and the first fixed sign represents practicality, security, resources, sensual (earthly) pleasures, and self-worth. Sun in Taurus brings our attention to the earth, to resources (yes, money), short-term comforts, and long-term security.

Other astrological yumminess happening during the later part of this month includes Pluto (representing transformation, regeneration, and intense impact) moving into the retrograde position at 28 degrees Capricorn on April 29 (another earth sign; the Boss). Pluto shall remain retrograde (representing internal as opposed to external transformation, regeneration, and intense impact) in Capricorn until October 8, 2022.

Pluto retrograde in Capricorn will be a time of reflecting on your internal structures (routines and processes); most especially on patterns you’re committed to ditching, now and forever more. Is it any wonder I’ve spent the last two days writing down an entirely new relationship with how I will use the first two hours of my day? Well, my natal Capricorn is in Saturn, so there’s that, too.

In preparation for this auspicious occasion, go ahead and check what’s happening in your natal chart at 28 degrees Capricorn. Using my chart as an example, 28 degrees of Capricorn lands in my 10th house (representing career, professional aspirations, leadership, reputation, and destiny). I’ve felt it in my bones for the last few years— a big shift is coming in the way I show up in the world, career-wise. Not only that, just a few degrees away from 28 degrees Capricorn in my natal chart is my Midheaven (Medium Coeli or MC). The MC in the natal chart represents one’s professional path, social standing, and public persona. Shtuff is about to shift for me, big time.

And without further ado, on April 30th, we have not just the New Moon in Taurus, but the life-transforming, grand daddy Partial Solar Eclipse at 10 degrees Taurus. A solar eclipse is a New Moon on steroids— many times the power and magnitude of a regular ole New Moon. If a New Moon is about New Beginnings, which it is, a Solar Eclipse is a monumental, never-to-be-forgotten, Cosmic Fresh Start. STAY TUNED FOR MY UPCOMING NEW MOON VIRTUAL PLAY DATES, New Moon Ritual PDF, and more. There’s always more with me. ;)

Get ready to witness a long-time-coming Adiós to any one or any thing that does not and will not provide long-term and practical security (sustainability) to your beingness. Brace for beautiful impact, beloved. It’s coming. And you can ride the wave of this moon phase with self-compassion, wisdom, luck, and self-love thanks to Jupiter conjunct Venus in mystical Pisces happening at the exact same time.

This is getting long, but one last nugget.

Grab your natal chart once more, and check to see what’s happening at or around 10 degrees Taurus. New beginnings await you in terms of your security, sustainability, structures, and values. Using my chart once more, my natal Saturn is just a few degrees away from 10 degrees Taurus, at 19 degrees Taurus. Saturn is the “Father” of the zodiac— giving us the opportunity, over and over and over again, until we learn the damn lesson. I can hear my Saturn saying once more, “Put your nose down, your phone in the other room— better yet, lock it up and have someone else hold the key, and get to work on making those dreams come true, Dearest”.
